Legal Aid Parole Reform

Taking parole reform to the streets

Following the advocacy of organizations like The Legal Aid Society, Governor Hochul signed legislation that enacted the most sweeping reforms to the parole revocation process, making it among the most progressive systems in the nation. The new law fights to end mass incarceration, advance racial equity, and bolster due process.

We are helping Legal Aid use multimedia storytelling, marketing strategy, and technology to educate New Yorkers about their new parole rights—a groundbreaking new approach for public defender and civil legal service provider organizations.

“As Legal Aid’s single largest community education effort, this campaign is empowering people on parole with vital information while centering the stories of impacted people.”
